I’ve owned a few of 240 in the past, can anyone comment how the Skre compares? Mostly wondering about sizing and wind resistance but also anything noteworthy.

I like the firstlite patterns, but to each his own. I have a few SKRE items and like them too. I also have kuiu and Sitka. They all make good products. I'm trying to buy American made products as much as possible, so that has impacted my purchases.

Lots of good options. For bowhunting I suggest merino wool next to skin and focus on quiet gear after that.

Sizing is very similar to that of the 240. IMO SKRE fits into that category where it’s maybe 80% as good as the big brands but at half the cost. That’s basically what the owner told me as well. I tried multiple of their products and wasn’t a huge fan. But, to be fair, it’s been some time now since I’ve used their gear.

You do know that none of those are American made products?

I have the Skre gridlite hoodie and the kuiu peleton 240 vest. They have a very similar face fabric, but Skre's face weave feels slightly denser/tighter like it might be a little more pill resistant. Skre's also feels slightly thicker. Both seem about equally soft and quiet. I haven't tested them both in strong wind so can't comment on the wind resistance, although both feel like common fleeces with a technical face (which would normally stop mild winds) people say the 240 is almost like gore wind stopper, but I'll be skeptical until I have a chance to test that.

Btw the code 20off will get you 20% off at Skre

The 240 for sure don’t stop wind and is super fragile. I use it for around town not as tuff as other kuiu stuff, not very warm ether in my opinion…

Sure, so keeping in mind I had the 240 vest and the gridlite hoodie, I carried the vest with me every time I went out for archery, and I carried the gridlite most of the time.

By my estimate the 240 material is slightly thinner/ more packable, while the gridlite feels slightly thicker.

I would say the gridlite face can resist light winds but the 240 can actually resist medium winds. This also means however that the gridlite can breath slightly better and let your sweat evaporate a bit easier but it's close either way.

They're both quiet and comfortable but the 240 almost has a tiny hint of that technical or plastic like crinkle which is also responsible though for it's slightly better wind resistance. The gridlite doesn't have that same technical hint as the 240 but feels slightly more soft and cozy.

Again they're very similar, so it's hard to say which is better, if I had to pick one to only wear for performance activities Id probably go with the 240, because in the field Id prefer to sacrifice some general comfort for the better wind resistance and (and tiny bit of extra packability).

If it was only for casual use, like wearing around town and at home, I think the gridlite would be slightly more comfortable, especially for lounging indoors.

I haven't factored in price, I believe the gridlite is a fair amount cheaper so that may be something to consider for you all as well.

Oh yes, and regarding toughness, they are on par, the 240 may have a slight edge, but neither of mine seem pilled up after miles through timber and brush.
