Skinning knife

Skinning wild game after school I was completely happy with a buck 103. Three very light strokes over a sharpening stick between animals kept it shaving sharp the whole season. Heavier than needed and I wouldn’t pack it into the backcountry, but a solid knife.

Do you carry a steel or sharpener on a hunt?
Usually have two knives. And it's those two. I'm only gonna be killing one animal. If you got a good knife you won't need to sharpen it once you've got it skinned quartered etc. I keep a mini survival one in a toiletry bag . Never used it and probably won't ever. But you never know .
