Sizing question for the KUIU crowd.

Strange, kuiu pants fit me pretty well, I got the Walmart wranglers because everybody here was talking about them and those are super tight around my quads.
Interesting. Which pants did you end up with? The more I look into it, the more I'm finding that the sizing from style to style has some pretty big variance.

Dang bruh.. I wish we had more threads about clothing fit and stuff...

Thanks bruh.

Thanks bruh. I did a cursory search and found a couple of older posts on Kuiu specifically. But since sizing has a tendency to sometimes change within brands from season to season, I thought it was just fine to start a new thread.

I have guides, tiburons, kutana stretch, attacks and a pair of axis hybrids that are all the same size and fit just fine, the guides being slightly looser and the axis being slightly tighter but none so much that they aren’t completely functional and useful for me.

One thing that is strange to me is that I bought 4 pairs of attacks and they all fit slightly different, again, not so much I couldn’t wear them but some were tighter than others.

Oh wow. You've got quite the quiver of them! Interesting to know that the Attacks are all fitting a bit different. Prana used to have this same issue back in the day with their clothing line too. It really comes down to the QA in their factories I guess.

Old Attack pants from say pre-'17 (pre-side zips) are a looser fit than recent ones. The Tibrons are a loose fit on me and from 2024. Kutana pant is a snugger fit for sure.

Tops are very snug in most cases.

I’ve tried on size 32 kutana pants that fit me great and couldn’t even come close to getting on size 32 attacks. I’ve basically just ordered a size large in every top I’ve got and been mostly happy. I probably could have sized down to a medium in some of them.

I've had a lot of variability in their sizing, it's frustrating....buy one pair of pants fit great, buy a different style and same specs will be way off. Had to exchange or send back more than one pair

Been buying kuiu since the initial offering in 2011. Still wearing the same size from their charts that I did back then. One of the lucky 🍀 ones I guess.

metric conversion from the patterns sent to the factories I bet has something to do with it. ;) When clothes were made in the good old US of A a 34 inseam was a 34 inseam. LOL you did'nt have to guess what size you wear.

That would be nice. Maybe I should shop for some 'vintage' Kuiu!

Kutanas a 36 fits me perfect. Attack a 36 is right on the edge, wearable, but getting tight in the waist. Talus Hybrids I had to go to a 38 to button them. I'm a 35 in Jeans.

That sounds about right, based on how these fit. How are you liking the Hybrids so far? Have they been pretty breathable while on the move?

They're decent on the move. The knee pads are kind of annoying on where they fall on my leg/knee, but not too bad. I havent put a ton of time in with them as I got them as a late season snowy weather pant and we've been mild enough I've been using my Attacks. I did spend a day hunting xmas trees in the rain with them and stayed plenty dry.

Good to hear that they worked well in the rain. That was pretty much what I was thinking of using them for as well...a more breathable pant for rain and snow. I can see those knee pads being a bit annoying if they don't line up, for sure. Thanks for the info...I just might roll the dice and order the next size up.

Sounds like I should have invested in my kit earlier! Good to hear that they are still going strong for you too.

That's interesting to know that the sizing used to be more traditional.
100%. I still have some Canada Attacks and a Guide jacket (they are pretty much hanging on, badly beaten up), but I still wear them occasionally. Attacks I bought last year in the same size are much more snug. I'm not sure when it happened, but the sizing definitely has changed.
