Well i got to put my hands on the new mountain haulers this weekend. 2700 and a 4000 both of them seem like really nice packs. I love the new stuff it feature with batwing feature in the front. They have removed the built in bow holder system like they have in the flash bag. The 4000 has the built in expansion baffles for more space, the 2700 doesn't. 4000 has meat shelve and antler strap hookups like the 6200, red goes to red buckle system. Pretty nice bags and felt good and they still did not incorporate bag to frame separation but that is not a biggie for me. Anyways just letting y'all know they will be rolling out soon. Oh the 4000 runs $ 485.00 and the 2700 is at. $329.00

Any chance at a solid color or do you know? Is the frame on the 2700 the same as the 6200?

The frame is the aluminum orange frame. They do have a solid pack called Drifter coming out but it is more of a travel bag, $169.00

What kind of weight?

On Thursday I had an estimated 75-85 pounds (three boned out quarters) in the pack for about one mile. On Friday I had a verified 98 pounds in the pack for 1.4 miles.

The first day I had an issue with the frame but I fixed it for the next day. I'm using an early prototype pack so the frame is different than what will be used in the production model. I only mention this to be totally transparent and don't expect the production frame to have any issues at all.

The waist belt is lined with open mesh which I don't like because I get debris in it all the time. I also feel it makes the pack slide down my hips more than it would with a material with some grip.

Can the 2700 haul meat or primarily a heavy duty daypack? Thanks
Its not a load hauler but more of a heavy duty day pack. It can handle maybe 50 lbs but it won't handle bigger loads like the Mountain Hauler 4000 or 6200 as it's lacking the stout aluminum frame. I used both in November and found the 2700 great for scouting and day trips.

Is the daypack gonna be available in a solid color or do ya know?

Just curious, where are these packs made?

Also, I’d love to see Sitka offer solid colors in their packs at some point.

Any word on when more details on the 2700 and 4000 will be out, or when they’ll be available? Was close to pulling the trigger on a Flash 20 while they’re still available on sale but I’m intrigued by the new 2700.

I think they are still a couple months out. I'll see what I can find out.
