There's the question, assuming money doesn't matter(can get both sets at roughly same cost) catalyst top and bottom or timberline pants and Jetstream top, used for mid and late season backcountry pack in hunts.

Hmm. I have a jetstream jacket and timberline pants. Also have a catalyst jacket but have not used it much. Don’t know the pants.

Timberline pants are beefy as hell. Between the knee pads and the reinforcements they are tough pants. Heavy though. Too hot for high temps but They are my favorite once the weather gets cold enough.

Jetstream jacket is full featured soft shell. Medium fleece insulation. Blocks wind and a good bit of rain. I Like mine a lot but if I was counting ounces I think you can get more warmth for the weight.

Catalyst is more lightly insulated and lighter. Doesn’t have as many features and doesn’t feel as robustly built as the jetstream. I do like it and it is a nice update from the boxing fitting northbranch soft shell.

Catalyst is more versatile, breathes better and while it isn’t windproof it is wind resistant enough IMO. The fit is much better as well. I can actually fit a puffy underneath for more stationary hunts.

Only complaint I have is the pockets aren’t fleece lined.

I ran the Jetstream Jacket and Timberline Pants this last weekend. Temps were around 0 in the morning and getting up into the high 30 in the midday. They worked great the wind never broke the windstop in the Jetstream and sitting and glassing never got a wet butt throw the timberlines. Cant talk about the others but am very happy with my set up and wont change it anytime soon.

If you can find the Timberline Jacket you get the main benefit of the Jetstream with the wind breaker and it weighs less. Also Anything this late i would do Timberline pants.
