Just got another pair of the Timberland Pants and they came with suspenders.

I tried them on but never use them. A belt always seems better. Am I missing something?

Seem like with my bino harness and back pack straps already going over my shoulders I don't need anything more putting tension on them.

I use them for local stuff where I do a lot of walking. I prefer them over a belt, but I'm not using a bino harness either. I like the way you can undo them at the loops and drop your drawers without taking any layers off.

I've used them when I needed them, as when the pants waist was big enough to slip down a bit but I don't normally need them. For me, they are better than a belt and don't really get in the way even when wearing a bino harness or backpack.

Use them religiously. I have no Ass so they really help me out. Nothing worse then putting a pack on and the pack belt pushing down on the pants.

I use them all the time, they let me wear pants a little large for extra comfort without constantly pulling then up. I'm taller but they've stretched out enough to be very comfortable.

Thanks for all the info.

I've got my weight down for Elk hunting so I've traded in my 38talls for 36tall and they fit great now but I'll use a belt. The 38's were loose and so a belt was over worked but these new Timberlands should be great.

I used to use them on a pair of pants I had that were too big for me and they worked really well, but I'm also 5'8", and I had them almost at the end of their adjustment. I have a friend thats 6'3" that always wears suspenders and I let him try my Sitka suspenders and they were way too short for him.

I have never worn them with a bino harness, pack, or anything like that though, so I have no comment there.. And I have sold that pair of pants now and gotten a size that fits me better, so I doubt I wear them anymore.

been wearing suspenders on my hunting pants for years now, I wear my pants a size large with no belt to hinder breathing You'd be surprised how much a belt restricts proper breathing and also flexibility to a lesser degree Sitka suspenders are a pain though, they slip out of the loops at inopportune times First Lite makes what I think is a more functional suspenders with a lock on the loop end I'm not above sewing buttons on my Timberline pants so I can use logger suspenders either

That's what I feel. I'm 6'2" and they seem real short.
I'm feeling like Dexter wearing them :)

The waist belt on a pack does not dig the suspender clips into your hips?

I haven't run into that problem as yet but they just might do that - suspender buttons can do it to some extent - I've been messing around with the Sitka suspenders and if I squeeze the "hooks" down tight I can still get them through the loops on the pants, that may be the best solution - This past year I've been fighting chronic lumber back pain from stenosis and a belt, any belt (believe me, I've been searching) rubs me just enough to irritate the nerves and exacerbate the the problem to the point of intolerance - I haven't even pondered how a day pack, let along a meat pack is gonna get to me - I guess I'd best be checking into that right quick
