Hey folks,

Looking to see if there is anyone here who has experience with these pieces side by side. I know a lot of people say soft shells aren’t worth it for the weight but most of my hunting right now is from base camps so I’m not as concerned. In particular, I’d be looking for opinions on quietness in case I wanted to bow hunt in them in the future and how much insulation each piece has in comparison to the others. I have a puffy so my insulation is covered but would be nice to know what I am getting as far as insulation. I have also looked at the First Lite Challis and the new Born Primitive Headwind as other options and am open to them as they will be quiet, but I’m wondering if I would be losing some level of performance and durability for walking through brush. Thanks in advance for any opinions!

I can only speak on the Challis. It's warm and well made. However, I'm not sure I'd be busting brush in it. I have used it to start my glassing knob hikes on particularly cold mornings.
