How long is this high quality hunting clothing supposed to last I’m 16 and I’ve bought quite a few expensive pieces from Sitka and got sizes that fit now and will for probably the rest of my life but how long should it last if I take care of it I’ve spent a few grand of my own money but it will be worth it if it lasts

That will probably depend alot on how much you use it, and how hard you are on it. One thing I can say is that if you do take care of it, and outgrow it one day, it should retain a decent amount of resale value so you can always roll a portion of your investment into new clothes and gear when the time comes.

Learn to sew, or sweet talk someone that can, and you can greatly extend the life of gear.

My mother-in-law sews up torn hunting clothes for me.

I made the switch to Sitka in 2016 and don’t think I’ll ever switch. I feel like I’m pretty abusive on my clothes and they hold up very well. Couple pieces a year to keep the cost down and keeping an eye on websites like camofire, black Ovis, and mountain archery can find some great deals. Any clothing can rip and tear but last year spending 10days in Colorado crawling through blow down I ended the trip with a small tear in my pants, where as my buddy with another line on “high quality brand” his pants looked like they went through a blender! I will say his pants brand did stand behind them and send him a new pair.

Rest of your life? Pfft. Yeah, right.

Rain gear: 3-5 years for most, maybe as long as 8-10. Packs and bino harnesses will eventually delaminate the goretex due to running. Taped seams will eventually fall off.

Fleece mid layers May last the rest of your life.

Pants: 2-10 years depending on use, how willing you are to have repairs done.

Down: a good number of years with care and repair.

I have the original sitka line mothwing camo when it first came out and still use it today. Any torn items sitka replaced or repaired for free.

I have sets for duck, whitetail, turkey/out west (subalpine). I don’t think it’s necessarily bulletproof but you’re really paying for better performance during the life of the garment (assuming life is the same vs other brands). If you have being cold wet and miserable it’s definitely worth the extra money.
