Sitka frustrations

So I got my kuiu chugach today. Funny thing I replied to an email from sitka the same day I orderd the Kuiu stuff and my Kuiu product arrived before Sitka even replied to an email. The only dissapointment so far with the chugach is that when wearing it over the guide jacket it leaves just a little of the bottom edge of the guide jacket exposed. Fits great over the spindrift, which I figurfe is how I wil wear it anyway.

Heres the email I sent Sitka. I figure they might reply, right?

I was interested in the dewpoint jacket but talked to "Jeff" I believe and he said you would not be recieving any stock in the dewpoint jacket size xl. He said that all stock had been sold to retailers and Sitka would not be recieving any until next year. I am dissapointed as I had waited for the release of this item. I was waiting on ordering the stormfront gaiter, shooter glove, and possible the mountain gortex glove so that I could order the jacket and other items at once. Now to learn that the jacket isn't/wasn't available and the other items have gone up by 25% is frustraiting. Pair that with the inability to recieve prompt customer service and I am not in the least satisfied with Sitka. I recieve a **% discount through leoadventures and even with that I find myself looking elswhere for the products I need. I am still considering a few sitka items that aren't offered by other companies, primarily the gloves, but if I can find them elsewhere I will. I have ordered a Kuiu Chugach jacket to replace the dewpoint I was going to order from you. I have called Kuiu 3 times recently and have always had my call answered by a person, this is very important to me. I think you guys make excellent gear but just that isnt enough for me to hand you my money.

Makes me glad i went with kuiu stuff over sitka. However i still want a few sitka pieces. With that discount it really dosnt hurt that bad, you would think they would stock thier store more!

Kuiu has awesome customer service... they have even answered the phone when i called after closing hours. I actually have only dealt with Sitka customer service once when my pack fell apart this year, I had bought it used and they sent me a brand new one free of charge, I was impressed with that.

Well I've sold off all my sitka now and Im pretty sure Im not going to pick up any of the other items from them that I was interested in. I got my chugach jacket and compared it to the sitka storm front lite pants and they are pretty similiar in strech and appear to be equally as durable. I think sitka really does make great gear and am confident I would have been completely satisfied with the gear I had from them but with the customer service I recieved I am just jaded and dont want anything to do with them at the moment. It has been a week now since I sent that reply that was posted above and have not heard a single thing from them. Their customer service in my expierence is horrible their gear is great., too bad they couldn't put the two together as Kuiu seems to have done.

The only experience I have had with Sitka customer service was for a broken buckle. I sent an email with a picture of the buckle from my pack. A week later a new one was in the mail. Other than that have had no issues with any of my Sitka gear. I will say I am really rough on my gear and no problems to date. The buckle is the same one used by half the packs out there. I went to REI and bought a spare just in case. Looks just like the origional one one my Sitka packs and the badlands as well. Just a little different color.

easiest way to get ahold of sitka. Go on thier facebook! really if you ask there you will get a response, if not from sitka but from a prostaffer.

I guess they just aren't going to reply then. Funny I figured at least they would have some kind of response. A buisness that just writes of customers??? guess they have enough that they don't need to worry about just one. I feel good about not giving them buisness so I guess we're both happy.
