Sitka Dew Point vs Jetstream

Hi Everyone, I’m trying to pick out a new jacket/soft shell and I’m trying to decide between Sitka’s Dew Point and Jetstream jackets. Does anyone have any experience or feedback to help me lead towards one or the other?

Jet stream is not full waterproof like the dew point. It has DWR and will shed a light rain so long as the DWR stays in good shape. I'd outline your priorities. Do you need a rain jacket or a wind breaking soft shell?

To echo what Adam said, first define better what you're looking for as they're two different types of jackets.

I have the dew point. It's pretty durable but it's very, very thin. It's just a rain shell. No insulation. Very crinkly sounding. But 100% waterproof/windproof.

I've never had hands on the Jetstream so thus isn't speaking from firsthand experience but it seems like more of a multipurpose "jacket".

I have both and you’re talking apples and oranges here. The similarities stop with the fact that they are both jackets. Dew Point is dedicated rain gear. Jetstream is a softshell. So, if you’re looking for a general use softshell, the Jetstream is your choice. If you’re looking for lightweight rain gear, the Dew Point is an excellent option.

In terms of my priorities:
1) the MOST important for me is which one is the quietest between the two, since my hunting is more active
2) which one is warmer between the two
3) I care slightly more about windbreaker and just has to be good enough for light snow/light snow

if your hunting is active, you don't want to be hunting in rain gear (unless it's raining!)- a soft-shell would be a better choice

even better imo would be a active insulation layer AND a windshirt combo- if there is no wind or light precipitation a base layer and a active insulation is all you need, wind or light precipitation add the windshirt. It's warmer and there is light precipitation or wind, add just the windshirt. Much more versatile than a soft-shell and performs better too.

For early season kuiu teburons are cool and breath extremely well. For late season the guides work well. For in-between conditions it’s a matter of layering up.

I also hardly own any jackets that aren’t hoodies. Hoodies not only protect from sun but wind, cold, snow, rain, bugs, etc. It’s also possible to layer with a vest, neck gator, gloves/mittens, baklava, etc. Rain jackets work extremely well as a layer to cut wind. I also don’t buy any heavier jackets or rain jackets without pitzips. Pitzips aid in ventilation snd may prevent you from getting wet from the inside-out.

Jetstream from what you described, I use the hell out of the ones I have. They pretty much go with me on every bowhunt

Does anyone have the Thunderhead and can comment on how it compares to the Jetstream and Dewpoint?

I have all three.
The thunderhead has brushed face, it quite and relatively weather proof. It’s great for day hunts that you can dry it out at the end of the day. It has no insulation at at all, it’s just a shell. It nots a jacket I would use if I was going to have coop with extended periods of bad weather with out the means to dry it out.

The Jetstream and dew point are well described above.

You really can’t compare the Jetstream to either of the other two as they are hard shells

Take a look at the filson reliance jacket. I think it’s in the sweet spot you are looking for and can be found for under $200. Softshell performance and quiet out of a weatherproof jacket.

Sounds like you need the Jetstream. It’s quieter than the dew point and will keep you dry in light drizzle but not in heavy rain. I have both and they are both great, my favorite jackets but are very different from each other.
