A single pin can be fairly versatile, but you have to do a little work to know how it can work for you. There certainly is a mental confidence that says "i have pin for each of these yardages" But there is a sweet spot where you can set your pin and never have to slide it till your target is a good way away. Unless your bow is like sub 250 fps, if you set your pin for ~40 yards you can leave it there and aim a little high or a little low. You'll want to shoot 5 yard increments without adjusting the pin you'll start getting an idea of where your arrow is gonna hit. Once you've shot yardage of 20-50 yards you can just keep yourself on mental notes of where your pin needs to sit on the target
