Has anyone tested these vs a double devel in the field a lot? Shooting 175 VPA two blades now but I'd like to try a single bevel if they are legit. I'm familiar with Dr Ashby's work.
I was looking at Cut Throats but they don't have a weight that I could make work. But there's a couple other heads I could use.
Thanks

I've had good luck with Woodsman broad heads and Zwickey eskilite. The Zwickey No Mercy is a single bevel. I don't think broadhead selection make much of a difference with a trad bow. I try to focus on the other factors like my shooting, stand placement and alertness..

You could take a look at Grizzly broad heads. They aren't screw in however, I have some 120 grn. with 75 grn. steel adapters. Hope this helps.

My arrows are in a funky spot. Carbon Express and they fly best with 225 in the front end. I run a 50 grain insert and a 175 broadhead. I could go with a 50 gr insert and a 125 head. Or a 25 gr insert and a 200 gr head...

Or you could do a 150gr head with a 50gr insert with a 25gr adapter. 125 head with a 100gr adapter...more than one way to skin a cat. You married to those CE arrows? There's always options. I've killed critters with Tuffheads, Abowyers, Helix...the single bevel is the real deal on bigger critters especially. You won't get the same effect per se on deer, but heavier critters they really shine.

I have been using a 130 Northern single bevel for a bit. Shot maybe 10 animals with them. Very impressed. Split bone like butter. Look up northern broad heads Aussie company they make a 190 or 200gn single bevel. They will go through anything

I'm a SB user and I'm into simplicity. I have shot nothing but Abowyer heads for years. Those guys make it easy. The head weights are clearly identified and they can set you up with any adapter needed to get your final weight. They make glue and screw models.

My last 8 animals were taken with one arrow and all got complete penetration. None of them made it out of sight and only one made if past 80 yards. I stay with what works for me.

I wonder if I could get a custom 175 gr VPA/Cut throat made... The only 175 I can find is the Eclipse Werewolf. But it has an aluminum feral and it's vented. But so are magnus Stingers and they kill more game than EHD and the reintroduction of the wolf!

How are Strickland heads? They have a 175.... I wish could afford them all and we had feral hogs in Montana then I'd be a broadhead testing fool!

You don't want feral hogs in Montana, unless you want to give up something else. They are destructive little bastards and are not something the ecosystem in Montana is capable of handling.

35 grain titanium adapter from Abowyer, 190 grain Cutthroat glue on, a little bit of insert iron, and you should be mostly there. Both products are made tight enough you should be able to put them together nice and straight without a lot of monkeying around. Spin test to confirm.
Odds are you can call RMS and get them to send you a single practice broadhead, put the combo together and see how it shoots.

Bishop Archery makes a 175 - 100% machined head. I have never used one but they have what you are looking for.

Shoot with the rising wolf and grizzly population we'd be ok lol! Jk
