Silver price just topped $75!

There are a lot of silver mines that closed with $2.00/oz silver. It's not something you can turn on like a switch but it certainly provides options that have not been seen since before WWII. We are just a little light in smelters and refineries.

Been a good year for all mineral commodities. The chinese export ban and samsung battery announcement/Mexico mine is just the icing on top.

Good time to be in mining.

I don't have enough stacked that it would really change my life to sell now but enough that watching this is more fun. A buddy and I bought some a little over a year ago eagles at 38$ delivered we shake our heads now and wonder why we didn't go bigger he laughs and calls it our Nancy Pelosi trade buy.

I’ve got quite a bit of silver. I’ll sell/trade it for another hard asset like land. I’m not a trader so I’m not going to sell it just to sell it.

Back in the early 1990s, my parents bought a neglected old farm off an eccentric local millionaire. When the seller heard that my parents were selling off silver to buy the farm, he offered them a discount if they delivered the silver to him instead. My dad drove up to Philadelphia and loaded the silver bars into the back of an Isuzu Trooper II. Then they stacked them on the table at the closing.

That’s almost how I imagine it going down. Handing the silver across the table.

I’ll probably have to liquidate it in reality. Although it would be cool to make a big transaction with silver.

That’s awesome, this should happen more frequently.

$100 an ounce is probably going to happen. Some are saying $300 within a couple of years. When (if) it hits $100 I will reevaluate and decide if to hold or sell.
Hold, we could hit $100 next week. China is going to crush our silver market which is mostly paper, they are currently trading at $82, Comex chases China.

We have so much damn silver and gold from working overseas, people in Asia just give that shit away as gifts and promotions. At one point, I got a 16oz silver bar for opening a bank account. Banks across Asia have display stands filled with gold stuff that you can get as promotions or trade your cash for it.

I should sell it all off and go on a big trip or something. Yolo.

So when do you sell to monetize your gains?
Depends. Why are you holding it?

If to make money, then when your gain is good enough.

If as a hedge, then be glad you have a gain in value on your hedge and keep holding, or at least hold most of it and perhaps monetize a little for something else.

I bought most of mine years ago at $40 an ounce, which was terrible timing. But, it still serves as an inflation hedge, so I will not be selling it now.

Perhaps it will be worth more in the future, perhaps is drops back below $40 and I never see profit. Doesn't really matter. I'm a bad speculator, so I don't do it.

I have pounds and pounds of gold and silver we’ve been sitting on for the past 20 years. I even have some I’ve panned for (I can’t believe I used to have time for gold panning lol). It’s all just in crown royal bags in a suitcase under the bed. I want to sell it but my wife always wants to hold on to it.
I have some nice nuggets my dad got from nome back in 1985. Gave them to me back then when I was 10....and I still have them.

Just make sure to buy your land in a state that doesn't tax the s*** out of you. These days you never truly own land. You're just renting it from the government.

You only ever truly own what you can hold onto. Government is just a co-op of people trying to set rules so you don't have to have more very violent friends than someone else to hold onto what is "yours" and part of that co-op is abiding by its rules and monopoly on violence.
