SilencerCo Scythe Ti failures

SilencerCo Scythe Ti Owners: Have you had a catastrophic failure?

Time to add one more to the list. Had around 500 rounds of 7prc on it with a 24” tube. Thought I was safe with most failures being on shorter barrels. Have a warranty claim in but with other suppressors to chose from in the safe I doubt I will use it much if it does get replaced.

Only recovered one of the baffles from down range. Other guys at the range were waiting patiently while I was trying to get my shit together during the cease fireIMG_0573.jpeg. Called it after a few minutes and asked the RO to let me know if they find the other parts.

How long is it taking them to get back to people about warranties? I filled out the form on their website at the beginning of the week and haven't heard from them

Been a couple months since I checked on this thread; was kind of hoping that either they finally fixed the problem or gave everyone their money back and took it off the market.

I can see that was wishful thinking.

It’s hard for me to imagine that anyone doing even a little research on the Scythe of late (and almost certainly finding this thread) and then after reading (and seeing) account after account of failures, would ever consider purchasing one.

I think a $1000 investment would warrant a little research???

I had bought mine in the summer of 2024 and hadn’t seen much for negative reviews like on this thread. Like I said in my post I thought I was ok using it on that gun with a 24” barrel and below book max charges. Disappointing because I liked everything else about it.

I really don’t care if they replace it at this point. Would be a glorified paper weight if they do. Pretty turned off from anything else they have to offer

I heard back from them the next day and had new can in hand in five days. I would give them a call

It is an over priced bolt action 223/300 blk can in my opinion.

Probably best for subsonic 300 blackout, but I'll see if mine pop's on a bolt 223 as I don't have a use for a 300 blk.

It hurts me to admit it, but I'm one. Bought mine in September but hadn't yet joined this forum. I did some pretty thorough reading and general internet searching before making my purchase too. It wasn't till I became a member here that I discovered this forum (and got sick to my stomach).

Not a fan of conspiracy theories, but I think it's interesting how little top search result info comes up on this issue (if you don't search "failure").

Painful lesson, but now I'm searching for a replacement that I can confidently allow my 14 year old son to shoot too.

Not saying you’re wrong, and sorry it happened. But out of curiosity I just googled Scythe issues silencerco and first hit was this thread. AI summary was spot on. And some more goodies below.

Hopefully others see it. Good thing there’s lots of others out there.

Good to know. I hope that's the case. Definitely not saying I'm above stupid mistakes, but I am surprised I didn't see it sooner.
Did you happen to clear your cache entirely, logout of Google and try it in a private browser to see if your browsing history impacted your results? I typically use Firefox to keep my signature low(er). But I did actually do a Google search before buying and still missed it.
I think I was searching stuff like "lightweight suppressor" "best hunting suppressor" etc. then later I was searching contenders by make and model
I was neither lucky nor smart on this purchase

No I didn’t. But don’t think I’ve ever googled that before.

Obviously I’ve visited that page. Again no fault to you, just want to make sure others can see it.

No doubt. Getting the info out is key. I know folks can get a little defensive, but I didn't receive it that way.
I'm embarrassed but if my mistake helps others avoid it I'm all for it.
But I will note that browsing history influences search results as much as (possibly more than) search history
Even stupid things like us mentioning Google in this thread will increase its ranking.
I hope this thread helps get Silencer Co to either modify their behavior or lose market share
