Well go ahead and mark me down for 2. This one came apart again today. It has been shot very sparingly on my 25 western after I got it back. I was using the same gun this afternoon fireforming some unfired brass with a mellow load when she let go.

This was my 5th shot on the can today. I wasn't shooting quick at all. Something felt and sounded weird and I looked up to see the end of my can gone again.

It failed in the exact same spot as it did back in March of this year. The 3rd weld from the back on the baffle stack.

Not really sure what ill use it for when I get it back but it's pretty shitty that they can't be ran as advertised. Guess ill stick in on a 223 or a 6.5 creed. I'm a bit hesitant to even put it on my 6 creed.

The shot that it broke on threw the bullet about .75" low at 100yds and I lost around 15fps of velocity. At least I know that im still good on deer if it blows up while hunting.

Maybe they should offer a straight trade for the steel version.

I would take another omega with the titanium direct thread and end cap in titanium. I bought the aftermarket ends from Hanson.

I’ve changed my elk rifle from 300 WM to 300 PRC and I’m always wondering when it will pop. My army buddy has had his go boing twice on his PRC already.

I wonder what they’ll say the second time around? At this point, I feel you are definitely deserving of a refund.

The last Supressor I just bought was like SN# 30,000, that would be like a $30,000,000.00 buy back no chance, it’s sad though. Wish I’d of never bought mine.

I’m impressed Silencerco is allowing their product to have this many documented failures without a recall. At some point they need to take the L and stop blaming all the failures for “misuse”.

They probably can’t afford to take that L. If the numbers are correct and thousands of these are leaving the factory every month, imagine refunding all of that money or stopping production entirely to fix welding issues or just basically sending out other products for free to cover everybody.

Recall should have happened years ago, now it’s sort of late.

Me too, at this point if they offered me a trade I’d take a sparrow for my scythe. It’s really unfortunate because the scythe is quiet, light and fairly compact. It’s just dangerous and sporadic.

The fact that repaired silencers are blowing up is crazy too. I wish o could be a fly on the wall in that company, I’d be really interested to know what people who work there say and what the thoughts are within the company.

My guess is the company knows the majority of their customers are hunters and shoot less than a few boxes of factory ammo a year. They are willing to repair or replace defective cans for the smaller portion of their customers who are enthusiasts and shoot year round. It’s cheaper to repair/replace vs total recall. The question is, can someone really get hurt if a can fails at the weld? So far I’m seeing it goes down range and the worse I’ve seen is a sharp increase in recoil. Maybe Silencerco doesn’t believe anyone will get seriously injured from a failure.

I’ve been eyeing this can from a company out of South Dakota. It’s titanium, light and comes with a brake and flat cap. Seth Swerzek with Hornady was highlighting one on the Hornady podcast on one of his rifle builds. They have a K version that is 4” and 7 oz.
