SilencerCo Scythe Ti failures

I’ve made my mind up once my nomad clears it’s going on my 25cm and the scythe will live on a 223. I shot around 75 rounds thru it today. No issues thus far. Maybe 500 shots thru it. About 10 shots with a 30-06 and the rest have been 25cm and 223.

Well- that might be the nail in the coffin for me choosing a Scythe Ti as my lightweight/compact suppressor :(

I kept hoping that the failures were related to larger magnums and/or very short barrel—well as the military used to say "hope is not a course of action"

Mine will be going on a 19" 6.5 as well.
Same boat. I intended to buy one to replace my Trash panda, and felt safe dedicating it to a 19” 6.5cm. Nevermind I guess. What’s the meta now? DD Enticer? LPM Mach?

5 shots is almost too much with the mirage

I was joking, sorry to hear that yours busted, I think you have the record for the mildest failure. From what we have heard they are only supposed to fail with abuse, which is unlikely with a mild caliber, mid length barrel and bolt action.

It 100% should be the nail I. The coffin of that decision. I have a scythe and I would never have bought it if this thread had existed at the time of purchase. It seems like a great silencer but with a ~ 10% failure rate (on rokslide) it’s pretty grim.

I wish I’d just bought another ultra 7, I like my ultra 7 better than my scythe anyways. I’ve always thought silencer co was a shitty fly by night company and now I have one of their silencers that has a 10% chance of blowing up.

I planned to only use my scythe on my 18” 6.5 creedmoor but apparently that’s even too much.

Even a 0.5% chance of blowing up on a light diet of 6 CM from a 19 inch tube is too high.

It is an over price 223 can that might also work for 6 ARC or 300 Blackout.

I would be less pissed if not for the bovine fecal marketing claims.

I wish I had just gotten another AB 8 stack.

Wow. How many rounds total through the can?
Sorry guys. I wasn’t witty enough yesterday for the timing of it….the 6.5C blow up sparked the thought of how low pressure can we go!

My cans still fine.

But seriously folks need to hold the line at the 19” 6.5C!!! That is the lowest pressure blow up I can recall here.

I thought I was good since it was April 2nd haha

Although it has a rokslide 10% chance of blowing up, I still like mine quite a bit. I actually considered getting a second one before purchasing a nomad, but thought I'd be better to not give sico repeat business on account of their seemingly dishonest communication on the issue.

It is a great can. Imagine how awesome it would be in a 3d printed version

range day- shooting 6.5 cm 147g. Shot 5 rounds then cooled the barrel. Round count around 400 ( 70 rounds today before failure).

Dang, I’m at about 200 rounds of 130
ELDM in my 18” 6.5Creed and so far so good but this really makes me second guess.

A few follow-up questions:
- What end cap did you have on it?
- Were all 400 rounds on your Scythe from that 19” creedmore?

Edit to add: Hoping to be at 1000 rounds by the end of summer, I’ll be sure to update if I have any issues.
