I’m just getting back into bow hunting after a ten year hiatus (work and family). The first thing I’ve noticed is that both the peep and pins are considerably fuzzy now. I’ve tried holding about a dozen different sights at arms length and there’s really no noticeable difference. So, any “mature” archers out there have a solution besides just accepting the reduced precision from the fuzzy pins?

Get a peep that can use a verifier lense. It is different than a clarifier. A verifier is designed to make your pins appear more clear. There will be a compromise between clear pin and blurry target. You can usually get both pretty good, but usually not perfect.

A clarifier is for target archery and clears up the image through a magnifying lense in the front sight of a target bow.

The downside to a verifier is if you get water on it you will have trouble seeing through it. Other than that there are really no downsides once you get it figured out.

Verifier works great right up till sun glare renders it useless. Never had an issue with clarifiers but I won't use the verifier on a hunt again.
I have never had that happen with a clarifier, but I am purposely waiting as long as humanly possible to use a verifier. I shoot a .010 pin with a light to turn on when necessary and it works pretty well. My pin is definitely not as clear as it was in my teens though.

Thanks, never even knew such things existed, but I’m pretty sure I’ll steer away if I can. I’d be worried sick of light, rain, and dust / debris. I’ll definitely take a look at one tho.

Definitely go see an eye doctor first. The target is fuzzy for me but not my pin. I have astigmatism and can’t see things far. I should wear glasses or contacts but I don’t since I see just fine close. It is getting worse so I’ll be visiting the doc soon. Also, try shooting with one or two vertical pins instead.

I shot bare bow limited for over ten years. Really enjoyed it, but wasn’t nearly as accurate especially over 30 yards.

Go trad and bare bow. You won't have to worry about sights and I can almost guarantee you will enjoy it more.

Go see an eye doctor. Let's find out why things are fuzzy first.

My eye doc is a buddy. He laughed, said I made it longer than most before needing readers.
