I've been in the habit of buying a bow, transferring all of the pieces over to the new bow, upgrading each piece over several years of shooting it, then replacing the bow and starting over.

One item I haven't considered replacing or "upgrading" has been my peep sight until fairly recently when the old age fairy poked me in the eyes and said "y'all can't see chit no more"

Struggling a little with the whole multi-focal plane thing, pin fuzz, target fuzz and lower light issues in hunting situations so I've been considering this as an add on when new bow day comes here in a couple weeks.

Are the upper end peeps like the Hamskea worth the $200? I'm just struggling wrapping my head around paying that kind of cash for a hole in the string to aim through.

Probably looking at a clarifier rather than a verifier I think, as I'm not shooting a lens out front.

Opinions? experience? Any issues with actual field use in a deer stand? It seems to me that the tiniest drop of water at the wrong time could wreck a shot opportunity, and you wouldn't likely know until you're settling in at anchor so I'm a little hesitant.

Clarifier is for a lens. Verifier is to clear up sight picture without a lens.

The older Hamskea style (insight) will change your aperture position a bit if it rotates. The new style seems to fix this, but I think requires a piece of glass in it. They now have an aperture on the archer side, lenses go in on bow side. Has the hole really close to the center of the string split on peep.

Podium doesn't change with rotation, lenses are more expensive I think.

Specialty makes a fairly simple peep that will take lenses, I haven't used them in a while.

I really like a hooded peep, sunshade. Glare can be an issue. Moisture can be too. I carry q-tips to keep Moisture off if it rains. They also make peep covers that enclose them.

For me it would be a last resort to use a lens hunting. Might try a smaller peep than you have been using first.
