Newbie to night vision here. I just bought one of the subject scopes and mounted it on my 556. I cannot get it focused for night vision. For day vision, it seems to work so-so. When I try to use it at night with about 1/8 moon (fairly dark), all I see is a very bright nothing with a focused cross hair. Batteries are new and fresh. I even tried a different IR illuminator as well as 2 IR illuminators with the same results.
I think I am doing something fundamentally wrong as this seems to be a decent brand and other folks like it. I intend to use it for hog hunting and according to my trail cameras the hogs are VERY active from about 9:00PM until 4 or 5 AM every day and need to blast some as they are really destroying the property.
Any tips would be appreciated.
