Hey guys,

I am getting a 2024 Mathew's Lift 29.5 for a great deal I can't pass up. I am new to the archery game but have shot compounds a decent amount when i was younger but mostly target shooting. I have some friends who are pretty experienced but like to do my due diligence. Along reading previous posts, I thought I would make my own posts to get some feedback. One friend recommends Black Gold and the other likes Spot Hog.

I was going to consider the Black Gold Por Hunter HD or the Spot Hog Boonie DT, both in 3 pin.

For rests, I am not too sure, I have not investigated what interests me much yet and was going to just get something cheap at first.

I do shoot a fair amount of rifles and reload, so I have a little experience tweaking and tuning things. TIA

lots of hamskea epsilons on the used market now with the r7 coming out. And you can’t go wrong with a black gold.

Any Hamskea if you like a limb driven rest - that's what I prefer and they are bombproof and easy. I know a lot of people like the QAD rests that are cable driven too if you would rather go that route.

As for sights those are both good. Axcel and HHA also make really good ones - I have the Axcel Landslyde on my lift and it's awesome but the Driver is their newer one.

Picked up the bow today. Decided on the Hamskea Epsilon V2. Still undecided on the site. Thanks for the suggestions so far.

I'll second the Option 8, I have bought every used one I could find and outfitted my entire family with the Options. I believe I own 9 of the sights with all of them on mine and the kids bows.

I appreciate the feedback you guys have provided me. I made a choice based off some discounts, general consensus on this forum, and from my friends. I decided to go with the Spot hogg Boonie side mount in triple pin. Optics planet had it for 20% off and there were not too many discounts that I could find. Some of the sites were more than I anted to spend. I went side mount because I am going to be stuffing it inside of my backpack because of the amount of hikers in some areas and I would rater not have people knowing what I am up to.

I feel like even for experienced bow hunters there is a lot of splitting hairs. Everything I got was on pretty decent discounts minus the sight. I don't think there was too much if any sacrifice on quality for price and given it has been so long since I have shot, I should be fine. Plus I have two kids that can get hand-me-downs if I choose to go with other stuff.

Thanks again. I am looking forward to spending some time dialing things in and saving money on ammo hahaha
