I started hunting with a pair of $20 binos. Upgraded to Vortex Vipers about 10 years ago and couldn't believe the difference. Got a pair of Sig Kilo 3000 rangefinding binos last year. After using them towards the end of last season and so far this season, I am thinking about upgrading to some better glass. I mostly elk and deer hunt in the mountains. I am not worried about ballistic solutions and the like (I only shoot to 300, 400 yards at the most), I just want great quality glass that will give me a range when I point it at something. I want something that is reliable in the cold. What do you suggest? Is there really a huge difference between the glass on the Sigs and something like the Leica Geovid even though the price difference isn't that big(seen them in the 1500 dollar range which isnt that much more than the sigs)? My dad has Vortex Fury's and they don't impress me. Any help would be great. Thanks.
