It’s a different product but I sometimes question the yardage I get from my Sig Kilo rangefinder. I can get a reading, take a step or two and get the same reading, a reading that doesn’t quite line up with the distance I actually moved, etc. almost like the rangefinder is “trying” to be too accurate.

I'm not going to pretend like I have any knowledge on this subject. The only thing I'll say is that my BIL swears by SIG optics and wouldn't touch a nightforce based on his experience, not would any of the guys in his unit. He's a highly decorated Green Beret so I basically do what he tells me. I've had nothing but good experiences with their optics personally but only have a few so it's a small sample size.

I also haven't watched this YouTube video, again, because I actually own one and have had it with flawlessly. It sounds like they were having syncing issues primarily which makes me question their competency with electronics more than the equipment, but I don't know.

That’s an interesting statement by your bil, never thought I’d hear someone say they would take anything over a nightforce that had a choice and wasn’t just a budget issue.

What has he said is so wrong with NF that he’d take a Sig over it? The Sig I had was crap but it wasn’t the bdx, it was a whiskey5, I gave it away to a buddy to see if he could get their customer service group to ever reply back for warranty work, it didn’t hold zero and fogged up bad, think it’s in his gear pile now.

In my experience, Sig customer service is crap.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised myself to be honest. What he told me is basically that about half of the SF units he worked with are all-in on nightforce, and about half are all in on SIG. He told me that he didn't trust their durability and had full trust in SIG.

I didn't question him deeply about it so I'm not sure what experiences led to that conclusion, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was all anecdotal. Long range shooting and training others in that subject was one of his specialties in the GB's and I have complete trust in his advice relating to it. Before he and I started working on my shooting I had never shot beyond 100 yards so I'm in no position to question anything he says...lol. Obviously I don't expect anyone else to take that at face value since you don't know him from Adam. All I can say is he trusted his life to those optics and that is good enough for me personally.
