Sig cross vs Sawtooth

First time posting here so I hope I'm doing this right. Looking to get a new hunting rifle (whitetail and hogs mainly) and the sig cross caught my eye awhile ago. When I made up my mind to get one I saw the sawtooth series. After a lot of research I'm still unsure which one I'd rather have, the OG cross or spend the extra $$ for the sawtooth. Main reason I'd want the sawtooth is the proof barrel. I've read where some owners of the OG cross have a hard time finding factory ammo it likes. Also read where others have no problems and say it's very accurate. Wondering what your personal experiences have been with either of them. Thanks

I like my sig for my kids. That being said I'd much rather have a tikka.

The folding stock on my cross has gotten some wobble in it.

Also the barrel swap is a pain. And the factory calibers offered kind of suck.

If you can get one for cheap and rebarrel it to 22 or 6 creed they're pretty fun.

Mine has a 22 creed 16" barrel for everything in Montana. It destroys deer.

The plus side is its suppressor and arca ready out of the box.

For context I probably have close to 800 rounds through this rifle.

I like it but it's no tikka.

10-4 thanks for the info! I had some reservations about the folding stock

The swap of the barrel extension seems a little involved. I wouldn’t know though since I’ve only swapped a barrel that came with the extension already installed (Proof 22 CM).

Swapping out my dads 24” 6.5 CM to the 18” 22 CM took all but 5 min.

If you go Sawtooth, there’s a good chance your Proof barrel will shoot great. Here’s the first 5 out of my dads 22 creed:

Nice shooting! Hard to argue those results. That 22 cm has really gotten my attention lately how are you liking that?

Thanks!

My dad hasn’t shot his 22 CM much since I set it up for him (it’s more of a truck gun when he’s running around the ranch). He did pack it around on a lion hunt earlier this week and said it was great to carry.

I have two rifles in 22 CM (not Sigs) and it’s one of my favorite cartridges to shoot.

I think they greatly improved the folding stock design on the gen 2 Cross. If you’re not sure about the Proof, look at the Cross rifles offered by Straight Jacket. They do steel or carbon barrels, will flute it, and also custom make a tool to make swapping barrels easier.

Thanks!

I've seen a lot of info out there from dudes slaying deer with it. I was skeptical but it's hard to argue with the results Ive seen.

Forgot to mention if you go the Straitjacket route they can chamber it in whatever you want. I’ve had one done in 6.5CM and 7SAW.
