Anyone out there running one of the new Proof Research prefit barrel for the Sig Cross? I just ordered an 18" .308 WIN

Just installed a 16" 308 on my cross last week, it's so damn hot outside, I haven't been in a rush to break it in to see how it actually groups.

I think you are going to like it. I got my 18" .308 barrel on last week and got to shoot it for the first time two evenings again. I don't normally do a break-in, but I decided to this go around. I did my sighting in throughout the break in and got it zerod in the first strand of 3 shots. Once I completed the process (8 shots later), I cooled the barrel down and decided to try ringing some steel at 250 yards. I had my DOPE from another .308 rifle in a 20" barrel, so I dialed and gave an extra mil or two. Missed just under the targeted. Gave it one more mil and smack!

I haven't shot any groups with it but so far I am really liking it. The few ounces removed vs the factory barrel make it even more pleasant. I hope you enjoy it.

I got the 20” 6creed proof prefit.

Rifle was 308. I have always liked the rifle, factory barrel shot most everything well.

Now with the 6creed it’s probably my favorite rifle.

It shoots very well load development was easy. Shooting 103eldx at 2989fps.

** edit Worked on my load development a bit- shooting 103eldx @3050, with 4831sc alpha brass small mag primer.

Buy one, slap a proof barrel on it and don't look back. I took mine hunted and it was such a great rifle to pack in with the folding stock. Couldn't be happier.

Anymore to add on your Cross in the last few months? I’m looking at picking one up.
Do it...these prefits are shooters. Super easy load development resulted in 5 shot 1 hole results for 2 different weight projectiles.

Compared to factory sig barrel, the proof is honestly a cheat code for the Cross

What are you guys getting for bare rifle weight with the proof carbon prefits? I've played with a few cross at gun store and I hate to like them, cuz I've got so many rifles already. An 18" carbon sendero lite 6 creed would be sweet titties on a cross.

I have never actually weighed my rifle, but I do remember the proof being lighter when I weighed the barrels. Both are 16" in 308

20” proof prefit was 2oz lighter than the 16” factory 308.

my son has taken a buck antelope and bull elk with the cross 6cm this year. Worked great! But he’s taken over the rifle haha

any reason they don't make a 22"? I am up in Commy Canada and no suppressors allowed so wouldn't mind the extra 2" for a little more speed

Prob because the factory barrels are all short. I will say 18-20 is sure suppressor friendly.
