Sierra Heavy TMK 6MM Testing

I am hoping some more favorable vendors have the 116 when it is available. It doesn't show up on blue collars site at all.

I spoke with them on the phone to order some 107s and they said late March for the 116. Similar e-mail blast planned so make sure your signed up for their mailer

price went up $10 between when I loaded that link on my phone then went to the computer to see what else they had… 🤦‍♂

Not sure how many phone calls they feel like receiving, but I'd rather them get the business, so oh well lol.

I called bluecollar and asked if they would take pre-orders for the new TMK's as they arrived. He said yes. He just took down my contact info, no credit card info. But said as they arrived he'd call me or just e-mail me an invoice. So I put my name down for 500ct boxes of the 116's, 153's & 185's. We'll see how it shakes out though.

I’ve been to blue collar a couple of times. They are a solid outfit here in central NC

I didn't know blue collar existed, yous guise are slacking! I've been pinching pennies with multiple vendors and just did a test run, they don't charge sales tax for me which would've saved me a whole lotta coin.

There’s more to stability than just working at the range on a given day. Density altitude ca vary greatly throughout the year

Yes…but as I understood it he’s talking about a given time of year at a given low elevation with shorter distances. In every other instance, stability would increase. So if the guy wants to see if they’ll work for down in the mangroves, that can be seen easily.

It isn’t as though he’s shooting at 5000 DA all year long then taking trips to Florida and worried about it. That would be different. If that’s the case, then my apologies.

Yup, and there’s also more to it that just stable or unstable. There are degrees of stability, and that can affect BC. The goal should be an SG of 1.5+ to maximize BC and keep it fairly constant.
Absolutely, tiny groups and nice round holes at 100 don’t mean that’s the sweet spot.
Some days my 88 grain Hornadys are hot in 223 at distance, others not so much.
I believe it may be due to how clean the barrel is, maybe a dirty barrel bashes them about?
Guaranteed they are on the bitter edge.

Prior to going transonic, bullets become more stable with distance, so if a bullet has marginal stability, you should see that at close range more than at longer distances.
