Sierra Heavy TMK 6MM Testing

Sounds like we need a research group to volunteer for a NZ or AUS culling trip. NZ for goats and deer , AUS for camel (elk size animal). I’ll volunteer to organize, but likely need Sierra to call and explain to my wife that my presence is critical.

What velocities was the creed shooting (understanding it was a low charge)? I’ve got an 18” 1:7 twist that would likely shoot these fine, but I’d be curious what 41-43 grain of h4350 would get.

38.5gr avg. 2,691fps MV from the 18” barrel. Way under what it should be. Should be up around 2,850fps.

116 grainers today. Dropped to 35gr of IMR4166 in the XC.

Shooting order as labeled. Pretty heavy mirage off the suppressor stating at the 7th shot.

Trued BC at 1,005 yards. 14.5” tall by 18” wide target. .590 G1 BC was used. 2,802fps average MV across 17 shots.

Started with 7 shots- all hit. Then shot 2x of the 115gr load from yesterday as well- both hit. .585 G1 BC for the 115gr, and .590 G1 BC for the 116gr were spot on.

@Formidilosus Did they send over any of the 107 TMK's? I would imagine that in a short 6 CM (16-18") they would be pretty optimal in the 2900-2950 fps range.

Formidilosus what are your thoughts on the 107s? Are the numbers listed above for those 107s realistic numbers? What are the specs on your test rifle, if you don’t mind me asking.
