My wife’s 6.5 CM likes Sierra GameChanger and Hornady Superformance SST the best. It shoots both equally well with the same POI. So now, which do we go with. My understanding is both are cup and core with rapid expansion with Sierra being tougher. These are factory loads. Most shots are under 100 yards but may have the opportunity for a long shot in the future (mule deer hunt in 2025). What do you think is the better choice?

Thanks, I will duck now.

I like the SST in my 7-08, but it has not been great at leaving blood trails. Sample size is 10+ deer now and blood trails are minimal. But most every deer has died within steps from the shot. The few that haven’t were the problems.

For 100 yards and under it won’t matter. I’ve had fantastic luck with the gamechangers in 7-08 and 6.5 creedmoor. Only 1 animal has moved, a large axis buck, and it dropped in 20-30 yards.

Edit- only 1 bullet so far has exited out of maybe 10 animals so far. Shots from 100-420 yards
