Yes sir. It’s a 7 mph gun and maintains 1800 fps to 700 yards at my typical Density Altitude.
That's really good. I'm amazed at the velocities some of you guys are getting from those little 16" barrels. I'm only 1/2 grain off your load but I'm only getting 2590 from a 20 in barrel. It is a factory tikka 8 twist tho.
The only thing I've noticed in my gun is that my groups open up the warmer it is. Zero doesn't seem to change, but precision gets worse.
I have not seen anything. My temps don't typically swing as much as you would see in the lower 48 anyhow. ie. I don't winter hunt in sub zero weather and 60f in the mountains is about the max.
I was all set to load up 77 TMK and you do this to me.
There is like 3-4 people in this thread that have posted consistent precision with standard twist
I want to make the 88s work, as they just look like they should be shot at an elk... but even with the 7 twist barrel in my Savage, I'm just not sure I can get enough velocity to justify them without pushing things. Or AI'ing it. Or both. But the 77 is no slouch... and I'd probably never shoot at big game beyond 500 anyway.
Not making things easier. What velocities are you getting out of the 16”? When I did calcs at 4000’ DA I was only seeing roughly 50 extra yards difference to 1800 fps but I could have fat fingered my 77 velocity
Also that t3 sporter has some secret sauce in there.
