42gr- H4350-AV 2759-SD 1.5- Slight Ejector mark. Drop to 41.5 and fire 10 next time.

44gr- H4831sc- AV 2682- SD 25.

43- N555- AV 2739-SD 14. First shot was the one not hitting the dot, this is the worst test group I have ever had with N555. I will likely redo this.

43gr- Staball65- AV 2745- SD 18- Ejector marks. Drop to 42.5 and fire 10 next time. This is the best group I have ever had with this powder.

47gr - H1000- AV2809- SD 28- Stiff bolt + ejector marks.

16” 6dasher .104” freebore Howa Mini factory barrel. All fired as fast as I could shoot steady from bench. 80*F, very windy

Alpha 3x fired brass

116tmk

3x each 2.35” 31,31.5,32gr Lever, 1x each 2.4” 32.5, 1x 33

.150 and .100 off lands, respectively.

All shot at same POA.

31,31.5 bottom cluster, 32 top left 3, 32.5/33 top right impacts.

31: 2510fps avg
31.5: 2525fps avg
32: 2600fps avg
32.5: 2625fps
33: 2675fps

33 felt a little hot. I don’t want to shoot these bullets, but I’d probably load at 32gr, maybe 32.5gr if I could load out at 2.5-2.6”

.243AI 19" factory Tikka 8 twist cut and chambered by Kampfeld, 700ish rounds on the barrel

H1000, BR2, Lapua brass. 2.950 COAL, jumping 0.080+, didn't really get too persnickety with finding exact distance to lands as it's plenty.

Loaded two of each charge weight, ran one batch with the suppressor on and one with the magnetospeed because I'm one of those idiots who still doesn't have a Garmin.

This barrel/chamber has showed pressure earlier than some of the .243AI data that I've seen out there. I'm not too worried about it, as it's been consistent and if I were a barrel cleaner (or willing to load further into pressure signs) I bet I could push it harder. I'd rather have consistency/stability than an extra 50 FPS.

46.0 2723
47.0 2766
48.0 2839
49.0 2926 Light swipe with can on, none with bare muzzle
50.0 2980 More swipe, slightly heavy bolt with can, lighter swipe and lighter (but still slightly heavy) bolt with bare muzzle.

I loaded 10 at 48.0, will report back after I get a chance to shoot. 3/5 went in one .5" group, the other two were less than 1" away so I'm hopeful that the middle of this range is going to shoot pretty well.

Very similar results to @eric1115 above. These are all pre-production prototypes.

Factory 1:8 twist Tikka 20", 5/8-24 threaded barrel, reamed to 243 Improved 40 with a drill, and throated .075" deeper as well.
Only powder used was H1000. Tested both in Federal and Alpha brass. All CCI200 primers. COAL anywhere from 2.910-2.950. They may shoot slightly better longer, hard to tell any difference.

Pictures are fighting me, but they hold the same ~1.25 MOA out to 900 yards (as far as I've shot them). Orange dots are 10 shots at 100, the larger paper target is 10 at 500.

48.5: 2850
49: 2890
49.5: 2950
50: 3000
50.5: 3010 No ejector mark, light bolt lift

If you want to get a bit more speed from the 16.5” bbl, you might try Ramshot Grand. It was faster and more accurate with the 88 ELd-M’s for me in my last 6 CM with an 18” bbl than with H4350. I plan to use it on my next one, which will be 16”.
Goal is 2780 fps with the 116 TMK’s.

Looking far more promising now. Thank you to pods8 (Rugged Stitching) cq0302 blacktailcentral and everyone else who gave advice in the other thread.

Tikka T3X
.243 Winchester
20”
1:8” twist
OG-P 6mm suppressor

2800 feet ASL
80 degrees F

H4350 - 40.0 grains
116-grain TMK
COAL - 2.941”
Once fired Hornady brass
Winchester Large Rifle Primers

I can live with this.

No pressure signs. I think the velocity is right around what I want it to be at 2760 fps.

2759 FPS, respectable ES and SD
