IMO if you want to get into a trade as a side gig; do demolition. No trade school needed, minimal equipment needed, start with small teardowns or hauling away junk. If the junk is scrap make a little money on that too.

I flip random stuff as a side hustle. It's not good for me as it supports my retail therapy. Sometimes I find good stuff and sometimes lose out of a bad flip.

Not really sadly, maybe running cables in new housing but that is about it. Job doesn't provide a good skill set to do anything on the weekends which is why I will probably learn a trade at a local trade school that just opened up.
You gotta hustle to have a side hustle. TONS of work piggybacking off of your current profession. Low voltage wiring is endless.. google or youtube university is your friend. I used to be an Inside wireman, I did tons of low volt side work.. speakers, alarms, light automation, phone lines, setting up routers, wifi extenders, tv set ups, surround sound, hiding wires on tvs hanging. Gotta hustle and educate yourself.

Linemen make good money but definitely not something I would ever want to do. There is a program around me at a school that teaches remodeling, so a bit of everything that I am probably going to go into this summer.
Lineman make more than good money, they make great money to absolutely insane money depending on whether you will travel or not. At least in the PNW. My brother as an apprentice makes over $100k/year. My dad as a foreman at a local utility which is on the lower end of overtime hours makes over $150k/year. This is the LOW end for lineman. If you are willing to travel you can make $200k - $300K without trying.
