The dance is in the great state of Montana. I'm going to meet others and hunt their stomping grounds so the state is as specific as I can be. The badlands fits someone well but I've never seen that person. The DT1 is fitting me great Jager .

Good to know Crumy. I hope its not too bad. I have exactly zero snow driving experience so its just another layer of adventure...or a disaster in the making . Glad I sprung for better tires. Going to google chains now.

You won't need chains.... Just don't use your cruise control. If the roads are too bad up here, they will just shut the road down on you. How will you know? There will be a big arse gate like a railroad crossing gate across the freeway with a nice LEO who will strongly encourage you via to not go past him. You should be good, just take your time. Reduce speed, and steer into the skid. ....

Thanks Crumy . I hope to pass through sometime Sunday afternoon . I drive for a living so the skid response is pretty well ingrained along with a mellow driving disposition. I've got a week to get there so I'm not in a rush.

Good luck Shrek.....I'm a newb to elk hunting having never done it either....I wouldn't even know what they look like.....be carrying a Nat Geo magazine Rocky Mountain Edition and comparing pics in the magazine labeled "elk" to what I'm seeing in the woods....kinda like making sure which mushrooms are safe to eat.
