These are two groups on a 20” 6 Dasher I’m working up a load for

6 dasher last match of the year 10 shot zero

Factory older lot of AAC 77TMK. 10 shot group out of a newer factory threaded 223 20” stainless tikka. Adjusted zero after this.

Replaced the stock and went out to check zero. I’d say she’s still zeroed. Tikka T3 stainless .223

I’m pretty new to shooting , first shot group of 9, adjusted up 2 mils then shot the group of 13. I believe the red dot is an inch or half inch diameter

This is at 100 yds. Any advice would be welcome, felt pretty good shooting these from bench with rear rest being a rolled up pair of pants. Does this dispersión say anything about what I could improve on? Maybe rifle doesn’t like ammo either?

Try different ammo. Your Tikka should be able to do better than that.

Agreed, try different ammo. My Tikka didn’t like the Bone Frog. Try one of the ADI loads. This is your first group measured using Ballistic-X.

That appears to be a 1” dot. If you pulled the bottom round in the first group, it’s not a horrid group, but I expect it is just how your rifle shoots that ammo.

Shooting from a bench, a decent shooter should be able to get a 1.5” group from a Tikka with factory ammo it likes. And with ammo it really likes, you should be able to get around 1”.

First shot to zero was to the left. Adjusted 2.25 MOA and result was 19 shot group with factory 6.5 cm 140 gr ELD-M.

Second picture was a 19 shot group with 143 gr ELD-X. Didn’t group as well but could tell I wasn’t as steady so it’s tough for me to blame the ammo.

Both were prone from my backpack.

Now that’s a zero! Not sure if this is new load but has 6.5 StaBall given you pretty consistent results so far? In terms of tight SD/ES and no erratic one off large groups or flyers?

I've shot a few hundred rounds with this load and its all been pretty good. I throw the charge right from a cheap Lee powder measure and load with new starline brass. I never really chronoed a bunch of shots, as when I developed the load I just shot a couple at each charge weight and loaded a bunch up when I found the velocity I wanted with no pressure signs.

What kind of velocity are you getting from that load with the 147s?

With the factory barrel about 2711, with it cut to 18in and suppressed about 2660. Velocity was confirmed by shooting to 500 yards.
