This is just Hornady factory ammo nonsense. Sucks that they are so inconsistent considering how good their match ammo was a few years ago.

Any recent experience with the variety of hornady 6 creed factory offerings? Wondering if it’s lot to lot consistency is going down the toilet too (while the price steadily climbs I might add…)

it's very frustrating. I got 6 boxes of factory 108 when I first rebarreled and was getting around 2975 (24in barrel) . Very happy with those number so then I ordered another 10 boxes from my LGS and the next lot is 180 fps slower. I still had a box of the other lot and shot again to confirm I wasn't going crazy and it was confirmed that bad. Im in Hawaii and with hazmat cant exactly return this crab back to Hornady. I might still try and ship back when I visit family but playing Hornady roulette sucks

Yes. For 6cm factory ammo, Barnes 112gr MatchBurner, Federal Gold Medal and ELD-X have been very consistent and shot well.

Probably. The 112hr MatchBurners have killed well too.

Here are 10 rounds from two different boxes, same lot. This was the faster lot. Factory 6.5PRC 147 ELDm, 18" barrel Tikka.

They shoot well but are definitely 100FPS slower than the box velo. Averaging 2660.

10 at 400 yards.

So many times when zeroing rifles for others I laugh at myself and wonder why I bother hand loading. I’ve never shot those rifles enough to get into different lots of ammo either. Lot to lot varying 100-150fps make a guy feel better about the time and money spent on hand loading. I guess a man would buy them by the case or a few cases depending on how much he shot but it would be a bummer to be setting on multiple cases of the slow lot/lots. Good news is it shoots well for you.

That is obscene. How do they let that crap out the door? It's not like they need RL26 to hit 2900s in a 24" 6 creed. There is long list of powders that will perform appropriately without being hot. No excuse for that.

That last string was 2889 average. At my DA down here, I'm 2089 FPS at 600 yards. That's plenty of range for me.

I've shot them up over book max (low 2900s) with no pressure signs in that rifle.

New T3X in 7mm-08, more 140 TGK disappointment. The main cluster is a lot tighter now that I'm sorting by length (there's more than 0.011 variance in bullet OAL), but still work to do if I'm going to trust it to go hunting anywhere other than deep-woods ranges.

Tikka factory 7-08 chopped to 19”.
It’s only 8 rounds but I wanted two to confirm zero after I adjusted (up 0.1mil and right 0.1mil, see second pic). Also, confirmed load using 3 more of same load but virgin brass (third pic).

These are 162 ELD-Ms getting pushed by N550 to a little over 2600fps.

Swapped stocks around on my the 223’s. This one went from a factory stock to an Rokstok.


And the other one went from a factory CTR stock to another factory stock with the basic plastic DBM.


The rifle in the factory stock has close to 8k rounds through it. Never been cleaned. The Ultra 7 on it is also close to 17oz

I tried out a variety of factory ammo in my 16.1” Tikka with 1:10” twist. It shot the ADI 55- and 69-grain bullets exceptionally well.

And it turned out some very nice groups with the Frontier 5.56 62-grain loads.
