this is probably a foolish question. Do guys have troubles with chasis catching every stick and branch that runs across in all the pinch points on the frames? The packability and the ability to run a longer barrel or a can seem to be the reasons to run chasis?
Not a foolish question. I'd wager though that my chassis rifle catches less trees because it is 6-8" shorter. The ability to have it just above the bottom of the pack and not stick so far above the top that you have to duck excessively is a big advantage where I hunt.

I've never had the chassis catch any stick that a regular stock wouldn't have caught.

I’ve shared this a few times but here’s my custom 7PRC I built. XLR 4.0 Mag. DSC_1016.jpeg

A lot of people are probably building very similar rifles but choosing either the XLR or HNT26. Mine is 9lbs without suppressor and unloaded and 10 lbs loaded with suppressor.

Coming back to this because I think I saw a post today in a Colorado hunting group, a rifle built by black canyon customs! What was your total cost? I’m considering reaching out to them since I’m in CO.

I actually purchased all the components myself and was able to get pretty solid deals on most of it through Black Friday sales. I just paid Black Canyon to put it together for me and spin/chamber the barrel to 7PRC

XLR Chassis/bag rider/5 round mag - $1087
Proof Sendero 7mm blank - $780
Defiance anTi- $1320
Mark 5HD - $1400ish?
Triggertech - $209
Hawkins Rings - $148
Gunsmith - $650ish?
Total excluding suppressor/brake: $5.5k roughly

Without the Black Friday deals it would’ve probably have been at least $1k more for the build.

Here is my HNT26 20" 300prc that will soon be an 18" 6UM. I do have an 18" 7prc barrel for it as well but I wanted to try out the 6UM.

Do you or anybody else happen to have the weight of the Hunt 26 stock in LA setup? I have a LA 6.5 PRC I was thinking about getting one of these stocks for. Also anybody know which mag will work for a LA 6.5 PRC? Thanks

Mark @ Exo MTN Gear did a review of both the HNT26 and XLR. Might be worth going to read. Think he mentions weight in the article.

I had a 7prc hnt26 la for a short time but those long heavy loud 3.85 mags were less than ideal for me, sold it shortly after.

Has there been any rumors of MDT or @Unknown Munitions making a polymer long action magazine for the Tikka/HNT26 chassis? Even a metal magazine would be fine as long as it wasn't as heavy. It would be nice to have one that worked well in 6.5 PRC/7 SAUM/7PRC
