Show me your Hunting Rig

I have a 2024 Tacoma and 2023 Tundra both with Leer topper I’m only 5’7” tall so I can sleep in both. Long extended stays I use my 21ft trailer or wall tent.

Im looking to see what some of you are using for your hunting rigs. Full size, mid size. Roof nest , sleep in rig? Sleep in back of truck? Do you have a Sweet set up that gets you deep in the woods to set up your tent? Im looking for ideas to build something. Pros and cons if you can think of any..
When you say build, are you talking like a dedicated hunting toy where you're swapping axles, adding lockers, ect? Or are a factory rig with some slight mods to accommodate comfort and offroading?

Options are endless. I can say my F-350 with a 4 link conversation with a factory locker will go just about anywhere it'll fit that you would be willing to take a "highway rig", and it rides very nice with the conversion, but a Toyota Tacoma if you can fit in 1 is probably the most amazing hunting vehicle ever built.

I'm very glad you're okay and made it through that, also that is a damn tragedy to lose a EB 😥
It was parked. I wasn't in it.

But yeah, it was a damn tragedy to lose that EB. '73, as you probably know from your user name, was the first year for factory power steering and factory automatic transmission. Mine had those options, plus the full skid plate group, front and rear limited slip (Trac Lock), uprated GVWR, and so on. I had put a fresh 351W in it three months prior. And I disc brake conversion on the way from Duffy's.

The drums with no power assist sucked.

My TJ got totaled the same way in the same place and, again, I wasn't in it when it happened.

Skinny 35's, 5.29's, spool and a spartan locker. Does what I need, though if I'm sleeping in it. Something really dumb happened. Front end is due for another refresh, not sure if that is going to turn into a straight axle or not..

See if someone you know will let you drive a SAS truck if you’ve never driven one.

After sas swapping my 91 I pretty much always wished I’d kept it IFS

I prefer them. Have never been happy with the suspension thats on it now.

All depends how they are done IMO. If I do it, this one wont be on leafs.

I converted a 20" utility hauler into my hunting trailer. I insulated it, installed a 3600 btu heater, interior fold up bunks, storage for table, cook stove, water, fuel and all my camping stuff. I haul a Yamaha Rhino sxs inside. I also carry a 4000 generator in my tow vehicle. It is a F350 4x4, diesel crew cab. I also have an awning for bad weather.

This truck is an absolute ANIMAL off road in rough terrain.

Balanced and blueprinted 460 EFI big block. Ported heads, RV Cam, 5 speed.

It just flys uo the roughest BLM and forest service roads imaginable.

I did it all rite.
It was on leafs.
But it just didn’t ride as good and cornered even worse 😆

Long as you know what you’re getting into.

I hacked one in under my '87. No money, skills or common sense. Looking back, I'm amazed the thing didnt fall out from under the truck. :ROFLMAO:

Tent camp the majority of the time but have a 4 inch mattress and tailgate screen for when I want a quick trip inside the camper.
Long bed is a must.I like to have nothing in bed so I use the full capacity and just use totes for gear.
Slide them out and sit under tailgate.
I have had different setups in the past and simple seems to fit my style better.
I have all my tools, but out bag,tow gear all tucked away in different nooks and crannies that don’t take away from any interior space.
Don’t like decked systems because it takes bed space, don’t like roof top tents because there a drag, top heavy and your vehicle is immobile if setup.
Nice. Bout time you upgrade to a 4th gen and sell me that 2nd gen.
