I was able to take my first caribou this year with my bow, what a rush and excitement!

I thought the hard part would be over, but I just haven’t found a mount style that I really like yet. Hoping you guys can post up your mounts and include the form description if you have them. Tops on mine weren’t great, but he had a decent shovel and bezes, so I’m hoping for something that can show him off from the side but open to look at any style.

Thanks in advance.

Check out Dahlberg taxidermy on FB. He’s a taxidermist with an extensive photo library of animals he’s mounted. There are a lot of bou there to look at.

The bull in the center is an Alaskan Barren Ground Caribou that I shot in 1980 on a DIY hunt with some friends. The bull on the left is a Mountain caribou that I shot in 1999 in the MacKenzie mountains of Canada's Northwest Territory. My outfitter soaked the antlers in turpentine and pricked the ends of the points to let the antlers bleed and hung them upside down until I left camp. When I got home, my taxidermist immediately sent the antlers where they were freeze dried.

Quebec closed caribou hunting for nonresidents at the end of the 2017 season. I was in the last group of nonresident hunters to hunt there that year and shot this bull. He won 2nd Award in the B&C Quebec-Labrador Caribou division at their 30th Awards ceremony in 2019. I also made his pedestal.
