I bought this ares 65 about 5 years ago, after quite of bit of research. I have since seen multiple reviews saying that the scope certainly punches above its price point, and I often recommend it.

Towards the end of last year, I noticed the objective started to get a bit "sloppy" and loose on the scope body. Use throughout this past year caused the scope to get looser and looser, then on my last tag punched for the year, emptying my pack after one tripping out a deer, I found the scope in two pieces.

Turns out there is three detents that hold the objective on, and they just wallowed out over time. I would not say I abused the scope, but it gets hard use year round hunting and shooting. In and out of bags and packs, tossed in the back seat of pickup, straped to outside of pack, etc. Now makes sense, I think that hardest thing on the part that failed specifically is cinching down a load of meat with the scope in the pack.

Anyways, sent the scope in for warranty about two weeks ago, fully expecting void / denied / repair bill. One, because I cut the arca plate a bit shorter, which cut off part of the full SN. they could have denied the claim right there. two, everything wears out eventually, and I'd honestly say I got fair full life use out of the product.. compared to.. more gentle users.

Opened up a box at my front door this afternoon... brandy new spotter. no questions asked. Means alot in my book.

Literally just had the same exp. with that exact scope angled.

I believe mine wasn’t quite that old and probably had less use. It came apart on me this season and customer service recommended that I send it in for repair. Brand new scope was sent it its place. Really appreciate that warranty and their quick reply.
