Shoulder strap rangefinder

Has anyone found a good way to carry a rangefinder in an enclosed pouch on a backpack shoulder strap?
Most of my pouches seem to loose and shift around.

Back in the old days before molly and other fasteners when I had items hanging on my straps and wanted something to stay in place I fastened it with whatever the item had then ducted taped it. Not perfect but it stayed solid.

I have a bushnell and put the pouch on the hip belt of my K3 and then using parachute cord I sling it around my shoulder into the pouch. I've run that system for years without any issues however it's not on your shoulder like you are asking about...
