Should I switch from NL Pure 12 to 14’s for my UT draw this year.

It’s a new unit for me I expect to spend a lot of time behind the glass for my elk tag. I use my 12’s mostly on a tripod but carry them in my harness and use them for final stalks until I need my range finder which is a 6x.

Should I switch to the 14’s instead? Will it increase my odds? Training really hard for this hunt and I want to leave no stone unturned. I also don’t like spotters and have considered and hunted with others who have them.

Will I see more?
Any phone scope videos of people hand holding that I can find on YouTube?

No. In all reality brother, you might want to get over the, I don’t like spotting scopes. They are a lifesaver IMO. They save your legs let you see more detail let you see a greater distance. let your eyes do your walking. IMO 14’s are not needed.
I use 10 x 42 and throw up my spotter when I want to see more detail or further. I also have a pair of older vortex 20 powers with a tripod setup that I use on sheep hunts and stuff when I don’t wanna carry a spotter or don’t need one specifically and I am not that far away.

If you truly want trophies, you have to be able to find/see them you have to be able to score them and make sure it’s worth your time a 5 1/2 mile hike in the morning to set up and glass to hike 3 miles across horrible terrain to get over and find out oh, it’s not worth it. Could’ve been all avoided with the spotting scope. Been there done that. Wasted time. and you definitely don’t wanna be the jackass using a high-powered rifle scope as a spotting scope that one seems to piss a lot of people off, including me.

I'd stick with the 12s especially for elk. I owned both the 14s and 12s at the same time and kept the 12s. Optically there wasn't a huge difference between the two except that I felt like the 12s were easier to look through for some reason.
