SHOT 2025: Howa Mini 22 ARC is here

Hopefully that means the barreled actions will be available with the sporter weight barrels. If not, I'll spend the money to get one with the wooden stock. The stock should have some value in the 2nd hand market over the Houge stock.

Jay

I like the 22” sporter. With Lever and 108, my load approaches medium light 6 GT loads.

I really dont like being negative but it feels like Legacy Sports is hampering Howa... abundant factual errors on the catalog, inexplicable catalog design choices ("223 // 6.5 grendel" listed as a single row), website doesnt show new offerings yet, no response to my email sent in December

Yeah everytime I call them it’s not a warm a fuzzy. It’s a “what do you want” interaction on the phone.

Absolutely a true statement. I had a Pointer Acrius shotgun that had machining issues and it was a disaster dealing with them. It took several times back and just horrible to have to call in at all. I won't have another one through here. Honestly I hesitated quite a bit buying the Howa for that reason alone.

I have emailed customer service a few times and never received a response. Decided to call with a few requests and person I talked to was pretty rude and basically said my ideas were dumb and nobody else would want that and they don't control what Howa does. After that decided to email the reginal rep for my area and that was a much better interaction. Im a big fan of the Howa action but there are lots of things they could improve on.

So where do you find these???????

They will start showing up in March I believe. I check gun broker about once a week for 22 ARC bolt guns from either Ruger or Howa. My preference is for the Howa due to the fact that there is available bottom metal that is flush instead of the plastic DBM. That being said, I haven’t had any issues with my Howa’s with the plastic mags, or the Ruger gen1 American with AR mags for that matter.

I had a chance to get a Ruger gen2 22arc at a local store and got the 6arc instead…..holy crap is it ever a hammer. Makes me feel foolish for the thousands I’ve spent on single rifles at a time. Holding out for the 22arc in the howa for now.

6 ARC is a better trainer/hunting rifle than .223. Change my mind lol

223 is still quite a bit cheaper ammo and longer barrel life.

6arc fills the gap for people who want one rifle to hunt and train with who also live in a state requiring minimum of .243

I used to think all my kids would get a 223 trainer. But now they’ll probably get 6arcs and we’ll have 1-2 family 223 trainers.

My 22" 6mm ARC is also 1:7.5, barreled action from Brownells, sporter barrel. It's a nice little rifle but I really want stainless.
A lot of gun smiths will charge you about 100 bucks or a little more to cerakote it…..there’s an option possibly
