Shortest barrel for 7 PRC ??

I realize they make the 7BC for shorter barrel but don’t know how I feel about reloading that brass or those pressures. What is the shortest barrel a guy can use with a can on 7 PRC ? I still want to be able to ethically reach out to 800.

I have a 20” benchmark, shoots 2870. Doing it over I would’ve gone 18” and chambered 7-300 PRC.

Cut 2 more inches off barrel and still be above velocity of a 26” 7 PRC.

I would be worried about a 7-300 spitting a lot of unburned powder out of an 18” barrel.

Powder burn rates would be my main consideration when trying to make a short barreled magnum cartridge. You might be able to do some numbers on Gordy’s reloading tool with a similiar cartridge to see estimates on velocity and burn rates.
