Shortening Vortex tripod legs

Has anyone modified/ removed the last one or two leg extensions on a Vortex summit tripod?
I don‘t use the lowest extension for glassing and want to remove weight/ plus allow faster set up.
I’m not sure on how it dissasembles and hoping there is another option than cutting off the lower one and reattaching the feet.

I bought a Sirui S-024 ? I believe is the model. And by removing a few of the leg extensions and cushions was able to get it down to 12oz,,, the legs screw right off and can be put back on if wanted. Works great for seated glassing like this. Fork out $200 or so and get this + the VA-5 combo and you will be STOKT

Removed the lower legs on a promaster by just unscrewing the leg locks and taking off what I needed. There's a good article about this in the gear mod forum
