I got UP TO 27” by switching from a typical finger release to a thumb release. Same anchor point, but the D-loop is an inch deeper into my jawline.
My newer bow is a Bowtech BTX28 set at 27” on the ‘comfort’ setting. In the shop I was pulling 65lb and getting speeds in the 277 range with 405gr FMJs. I shoot 430 Gr Axis now after losing faith in the FMJs but haven’t been through a chrono.
I did have the limbs de-lam after the NW Mountain Challenge last year. The bow was in my truck in 100 degree heat. Bowtech worked with me to get solid limbs and were very nice about it.
My son started with a new Diamond Edge Pro Elite. He was 10 but strong and he was drawing 24” and 24 lb but quickly moved up to 27” and 64lb now. That bow is smooth, quiet and light. It hasn’t been through the chrono but it’s zipping right along. That Diamond bow is so impressive for $399 new.
