Real quick, using a Lift 33, 28.5 DL, and 80lb mods.

Arrow specs:
VAP TKO 235 cut to 27.75in
Podium titanium half outs
Microlight nock/lighted nocks
100gr titanium field point
5inch wrap
Vanes: AAE max stealth/Hybrid HP’s 3• left helical

TAW is roughly 495

My question is what experience anyone has had with each of these vane set ups.

I plan on building 2 of each arrow, HP’s with and without wraps, Max stealth’s with and without wraps.

I came from the blazers and those were lights out, switched to the Max stealths and I’ve noticed that I got quite a bit more drag on the arrow at further distances. My sight tape from the blazers to the max stealths were the same up until 50yds or so, but the max stealths has a much larger yardage gap beyond that.

The Max stealths perform pretty good otherwise but I feel like they open up more so at further distances, so I was seeing if anyone else has experienced this or is having better performance with the hybrid HP’s?

I use the same arrow set up as I do for TAC as I do for hunting.

Benefit of the Max Stealth is a little less sound with more clearance. A hair more drag at noted but I've never been able to measure that on my sight tape personally.

I'd look into DCA Super Sabres or AAE Airazr 26.

If you want to nerd out - check out the Yates/Precision Cut Archery Vane testing.

Love to tinker around so I’ll check it out!
Thank you!

Max stealth I shot for years - with a 420 taw - at 120 yards I’m saving 10 yards on my sight tape by switching to mini sabres .

I shoot expandable broadheads only so no need for those big max stealths .

I'd recommend diving into the link posted above it should give you some good info on both those vane and quantify what you'll probably see if you could meet the same controls with your shooting. That's a big iF for most of us.

I’m shooting a mixed of expandable and fixed depending on what I’m hunting, but mostly shooting the iron will wides or the G5 Montecs have bee flying and performing really well for me… I know they’re not the sharpest but they’ve been giving me pretty good success.

I’ll try to get them all fletched up and run some tests and see what they do once everything arrives

Shot the max stealth for maybe 10 yrs now. I like them. Good vane clearance, I guess quiet...havent really done any tests on that part. I shot expendables and hybrids mostly. No issues stabilizing either.

Just stick with the blazers. I’ve used them for many years and don’t think I’ll ever change. Only reason to switch is if you like to tinker which is fine but I’m a keep it simple guy.

the Blazers weigh around 6g each and the Max Stealth are at least 8.8 each. You have almost a 3g difference in weight per vane. If you 3 fletch that is close to 8.5-9g difference in arrow weight. That alone is going to cause the Blazers to hit higher at longer distances before you factor in each vanes drag characteristics imo.

Well I was thinking of throwing on a lighted nock to kind of keep the total weight the same.

That may work, but every lighted knock has a different weight so you may or may not get them matched up but it may be close enough to wing it I guess.
