Short barrel rifle options for suppressor at light mountain weight?

Forgot to post yesterday. I had my tikka 300wm chopped to 20 and threaded for my can. I took it out yesterday to 900 yds, and was very pleased. With the can I was only down 60fps from 24" using the same load. Wish I would have done this sooner, shooting with the suppressor makes it so much more enjoyable.

What can? And what was the difference in recoil?

What thread pattern were they able to thread with after cutting to 20"?

Looking to do that to my tikka .308, did you have it threaded 5/8?

Silencerco omega 300. I used a brake before having it hacked. I'd say the brake may have controlled recoil maybe a hair more, but the concussion made it not as fun to shoot IMO. The can seems to be more of a slower push than short jolt. Definitely helps a ton. Over not braked it's no comparison.

There wasn't quite enough meat to get to 5/8 so it's 9/16 x 24 with a small adapter to 5/8. Silencerco makes a 9/16 direct thread mount but honestly the adapter works fine so I doubt I'll spend the 100$ for that 9/16 mount.

Here's the adapter. Doesn't add any length and gives a solid shoulder for the can to thread against.

A Bergara B14 Extreme / Ridge SP with a light carbon stock will put you about #6 or less with a nice thick threaded barrel already.

Is that adapter heavy? Do you know how many ounces it weighs?
I have several of those adapters, they barely have any weight to them. I would guess around 0.1-0.15oz if that even. Both the front and rear tikka steel action screws together weigh 0.55oz

Good to know. Thank you.

I’ve been using a Tikka T3x chopped down to 18.5” and threaded at 1/2x28 with the area 419 suppressor mount for around two years now and have been thoroughly happy with my choices. I added a KRG bravo recently and have taken it bear hunting, PRS comps, and will be taking it elk hunting soon. It’s not in your weight class anymore, but you could buy a different chassis/stock and be close(er).
