Short action magnum to short action

I have a short action magnum. Thinking about swapping out the barrel and going with a milder cartridge (6.5 creedmoor or 7mm08) in short action. Other than a different bolt face, any other considerations? I would have a gunsmith do most of the work. Would it just be easier to sell it and start over?

Feed lips if it’s Remington 700 adl/bdl type or similar. If dbm or something with a removable mag probably not an issue. What rifle is it?

Christensen. So Remington clone.

I would start over. You will need a new bolt, a new barrel (obviously) and a stock you can use a detachable mag with.

I would just go 6.5prc or 6.8 western if you’re running factory ammo.

If your Christensen has an internal box magazine you will basically have to start over from scratch.

That’s kinda what I figured but I was not sure.

The bolt can be bushed....but you're going to end up money behind.
