Shooting House Shot Levels

Hoping someone has experienced this. Going to be hunting from a shooting house this whitetail rifle season some.


Does a gunshot from a shooting house, let's say the barrel is 12" from the house generate a far louder sound than shooting from out in the open air?

If the barrel is 12" outside the window, its not a big deal.


If its 12" inside the window, its gonna suck.

Shooting inside anything is louder. This sounds miserable.

Louder no matter what. Barrel sticking out is way better than having it inside the shooting shack, but still very loud. No reason not to bring hearing pro when you have the ability to put them on last second while in a blind that conceals your movement.

Hang the barrel out and you will have no issues. It isn’t as loud as open air cause of the shooting house blocking some of the sound waves. I dont wear hearing protection when hunting like this.



Do not shoot w barrel inside the house. That would really ring your bell.
