Let me start this off by saying i wouldnt call really call myself a hunter just a logger and muchroom harvester who lives in the bush and Im not really looking to buy a new rifle the one i got works for why its here and thats it, I own a S&W 1854 .44 mag that I keep around for so bears when they need to chill out abit and moose when i get a tag to stock the freezer.

Im currently being overrun by a beaver colony thats gotten a little (i wont need to cut for firewood for years) out of control.
I know a .44 is overkill for harvesting beaver, I dont much care if it a pretty pelt. But is it TOO much like will there be anything left or just a mess where it was? im not looking to save pelts or meat but im also not trying to blow the ******* apart or anything.
