Shooting bags for the bench

I’m looking for a shooting bag to use while sighting in my rifle and shooting my 22lr from the bench. Thought about the Caldwell tack driver, but wanted to see what you all used before ordering. Let me know what you like. Thanks!

I sewed up a couple of my own rectangular bags about 5"x9" and filled them with white rice. I've been using them for about 20 years.

Mine actually show up today so I haven’t used them yet, but the LS Wild bags seemed to be well regarded on here when I was researching a couple of weeks ago. Liked that he’s a consistent user and supporter of Rokslide too.

I've tried a bunch and settled on a Dima as seen in the rifle pic or my latest, I'm still testing not pictured, a "SEB" Honestly it's whatever bag gets you properly behind the rifle not creating awkward positioning of head and arms. It needs to keep alignment of rifle recoil in line with POI desired. Like boots, you need to try it on and see for yourself.

fabric gun socks, cut to size and filled with airsoft bb's work really well, especially for squeeze bags under the buttstock

I just put my molinator on a cinder block.

I have some LS Wild bags too which are nice.

I find its more about the fill in the bag, than the bag itself.

My favorite setup is:

Caldwell Tac-Driver out front.
Varmageddon GameChanger rear support.

Its absolutely rock solid!

I bought a cheap front and rear support from Amazon and put fine sand in it:

Sand is NOT the answer.

Sand heavy and not very flexible. Plus the dust would explode out of it just moving it! Like a pitchers rosin bag. I hated it. So I began looking at different fill options since I am going on a Prairie Dog hunt on Thurs with my Father In Law and uncle. My father-in-law needs a front & rear support. Lots of guys said corn, rice, kat litter, spec-light, airsoft BBs or plastic pellets from amazon and something called "Get-Lite" filler.

I wasnt going kat litter, corn, rice or anything bio-degradable. So plastic BBs/pellets ans the Get-Lite were what I looked at.

The airsoft BBs and Amazon plastic pelleta were like $38-45 depending on size, weight and total weight of what I needed.

For only $15 more I could get "Get-Lite" fill for a full GameChanger bag and reduce the weight from 6.5 lbs to 2.5.

AND THEN that got me thinking. I could PACK my GameChanger bag with me on hunts!!! For only $15 more!

So I went with the Get-Lite fill for my Varmegeddon Game-Changer. Then took the GameChanger fill, tossed the sand, and put it in my Amazon bags.

Last weekend, all 3 of it tested it out, and the GameChanger with Get-Lite is still awesome and just SUPER light. And the Amazon Bag is now legit too!

We run bipods out front prairie dog hunting. But pack hunting, ill shoot off my pack and now use the GC for a rear support if I can get prone. If not, then Ill use my Quick-Stix out front and hug my pack for a rear support.

So its all about fill ive learned.

Very happy with my decision.

I use my bipod and an Armageddon Gear squishy rear bag i picked up at Scheels. I have no complaints so far

a car jack front rest has more fast elevation adjustment than any bags for PD shooting.....
