Shooter App v2.0.0

My android app updated to version 2 overnight and instead of panicking, I read this whole thread and got squared away quick. Thanks everyone who participated
Agreed. My android did the same, just set it up as specified in post #80 (pasted below) and good to go.

When the update hits in the next couple days, I think most of you would be interested in the changing the following settings:

1) Set "Speed Precision" to Integer in settings
2) Set "Solution Display" to Field in settings (can also be changed from the solution screen itself so that you can switch between advanced mode/field mode)
3) Set "Output Precision" to Nearest Dial, or perhaps Tenth
4) Enable "Hide Linear Path/Drift" under Trajectory Table in Settings
5) In your firearm profiles, set your turret graduations = 1. This will disable "clicks" output in the solution screens. EDIT: Caveat: if you did do #3, you shouldn't do this as #3 would cause your output to get rounded to whole numbers.
6) You may want to also disable showing data inputs on the trajectory table

In addition to adding the "Field View" solution screen that is similar to v1 with a few improvements (see screenshot above), we've also reverted the trajectory table back to the 'zoomable' variant.

Lastly, the "Hide Linear Path/Drift" setting in the trajectory table would previously replace the linear columns with click-value columns. It now just removes the linear columns, making the table output simpler with just range, angular corrections, velocity, energy and tof.

Thank you to the app developer and those here that provided input to result in the changes throughout this thread.

I was caught off guard and had been fighting Shooter for over a month now.

In the past year or two I bough AB thinking it might be better and some people I talked to liked it. Quickly found out I should have just been content with Shooter.

Got all my settings back as suggested in this thread.

Settings > Trajectory Table > Hide Linear Path/Drift

That gets rid of the "inches" and cleans the table up significantly. I think that's your only option for customizing the table though.

I got most of the app back to my satisfaction. I loved version 1. I still miss the old home screen with firearms listed as soon as you open the app. Some of us have a bunch of different choices we could be carrying for the day. It took 2 seconds to switch firearms and load. I wish there was an option to get that back.

Developer of Shooter here.

Sorry to hear you and others here are disappointed with the update. Let's talk about it and perhaps we can release an update that addresses some/all of your issues.

Default Calc Display indeed does not function, this is a known bug after updating and will be resolved.

New app does use 2 decimals of precision now. If this is a big heartache, we can add a Setting for the output precision.

You are correct that we removed simple/advanced and it now just has all features enabled all the time.

What about the solution screen is vomit-inducing?

Can you elaborate / clarify on input entry problems? From what screen are you having to manually delete the old entry and enter new ones?
Older thread and I don’t know how gotten you check this, but I wanted to bring up one potential minor change that might be worth implementing.

The wind setting is constant across all guns. It would be great if you could have a wind setting that you establish your wind setting specifically for a gun and ammo combination. I know that three of my rifles are 3, 4, and 6 mph wind guns, which is the speed it takes to push a bullet about 0.1 Mils per hundred yards. It would be spectacular if you could switch between guns in the app and maintain that setting.

I understand that any change can potentially affect other things and it may not be possible.

Thanks being engaged with the group here.
